Technology
The GK/Retail Suite is completely based on internationally accepted standards in order to guarantee a quick and unobstructed integration into grown IT landscapes and, at the same time, highest flexibility with respect to new requirements.
100% Pure Java
According to the product philosophy of the GK SOFTWARE AG, all GK/Retail solutions are completely realized in Java and, thus, can be run on any hardware and under the control of all usual operating systems, without any restrictions.
Open Standards
For the communication with the periphery, external data sources or third-party solutions, all GK/Retail solutions exclusively use standardized methods or protocols such as Java-POS, Java-RMI, HTTP, TCP/IP or SMTP.
ARTS
The kernel of the GK/Retail data keeping consists in the ARTS data model. The width and universality of the data model allow the connection of periphery and third-party systems with nearly no restrictions. Thus, new business processes and the simple linkage of external ARTS-compliant applications are guaranteed. Topics such as article types (Trading Units / Variants, Fashion and Labeling) and Promotions are comprehensively mapped by the data model as the stock or merchandise management vouchers are mapped too. By default, GK/Retail supports the IXRetail communication standard defined by the ARTS committee.
SAP-Anbindung
The GK SOFTWARE AG has long
standing experiences in the linkage to central SAP systems. For example,
GK/Retail is able to directly create and process SAP iDocs. As an alternative,
the solutions of the GK/Retail Suite can also be integrated seamlessly into SAP
XI (Exchange Interface) structures. GK/Retail has ready-to-use
"out-of-the-box" scenarios for a seamless SAP integration (for
example, on the basis of SAP NetWeaver (Powered by SAP NetWeaver) or of the
certified POS Interface for the downloading and uploading of data
(Certified Integration).
Ready for SOA
GK/Retail supports the integration of WebServices and is able to provide WebServices by itself. For that purpose, GK/Retail is based on the appropriate standards such as SOAP, WSDL (Web Services Description Language) and UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration).
Enterprise Portals / EAI
Within the Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), the topic of enterprise portals forms a focal point in the field of modern IT landscapes. GK/Retail innately supports the central standard for the area of enterprise portals (for example, for the GUI presentation (HTML, CSS, JSP), the integration (WebServices, JCA=J2EE Connector Architecture) and the portal technology (JSR =Java Specification Request, WebServices).
