Lean Store Server
The GK/Retail Lean Store Server allows the centralization of all BackOffice servers. Thus, the branch store is relieved of a complex data keeping, of numerous processes and of expensive IT equipment.
With the GK/Retail Lean Store Server, scaleable central server systems take the place of the BackOffice servers in the branch stores that are responsible for the BackOffice services and for the data keeping. For the employees on site, nothing changes due to that because the applications on the client PCs in the branch stores can be further on used as usual.
In a central scenario, unlimited high-performance servers as well as databases in the head office of the enterprise are used for the services and the data keeping of the branch stores. This results in enormous saving potentials, particularly in the maintenance, administration and service areas. At the same time, simplified backup and deployment concepts become possible. Thus, the GK/Retail Lean Store Server allows a considerably lower TCO, with a simplified IT structure.
To guarantee security in case of fluctuations in the network availability, the GK SOFTWARE AG developed the GK/Retail Business-Continuity-Technology. It ensures a continuous acceptable data quality and the automatic resumption of all ongoing processes when the link between branch store and head office has been recovered.
