Stored Value Server

The GK/Retail Stored Value Server securely manages all the gift cards that have been issued across the corporation – regardless of whether they are traditional gift coupons or electronic gift cards. It handles the online validation of all gift card transactions at POS units in real time and so prevents any fraud or errors when handling gift cards. 

Central Gift Card Database

The GK/Retail Stored Value Server provides a central gift card database that makes all the information about gift cards available within the whole corporation. Thousands of POS units in various countries and external systems – e.g. web shops – can access this system via a web link and request all the information required in real time. If the Internet connection is offline, the POS systems have mechanisms to guarantee that gift cards can be issued and accepted at any time. 

Gift Cards

The GK/Retail Stored Value Server completely handles all the processes related to electronic gift cards including accounting – without the need for any additional software. This system allows all the processes associated with gift cards to be completely managed in conjunction with GK/Retail POS. This includes the sale and acceptance at POS units, topping up cards and making inquiries about the status of cards.

Central Management Tool

Authorized persons can handle monitoring and management tasks at any time using the browser-based management GUI in the GK/Retail Stored Value Server. For instance, gift cards can be checked, reports can be provided or corrections made to the status of cards. 

Interfaces for External Systems

The GK/Retail Stored Value Server has interfaces to simply and quickly integrate data from external systems, e.g. gift card suppliers or card manufacturers, using standard data interchange formats. As the GK/Retail Stored Value Server can communicate with the other end systems that have been linked up via web services, web shops can also be included in the process of accepting gift cards through many sales channels. The web shop accesses the central systems via the same web services as the POS systems in order to validate the gift cards.
